This workshop is a day class for anyone who would like to be introduced to the art of painting with wax. All supplies are provided to experience this luscious, versatile medium. If you love it, Fountainhead ArtSpace instructors offer advanced workshops, going beyond the basics.
Penny demos techniques such as layering, fusing, pigmenting wax and shares her personal methods. Safety, history and nuances of tools and equiptment are covered.
Encaustic painting is one of the most forgiving of painting mediums as changes can be made dramatically and quickly. It has the ability to appear opaque, thick and sculptural or transparent, etheral and thin. Leave with the joy of experiencing a new painting technique and mini-masterpieces to treasure.
No experience necessary. Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate
