Both Liz and Penny set the tone the moment
I walked in by connecting over tea. It allowed
the time and space to disconnect from the external world. Once we started shooting, I let go! I tapped into my wild spirit. I felt sensual, sexy, fierce, radiant AND ageless!
Was this a pivot point in your relationship
for yourself?
I spoke to the camera (lion) with my soul. I wanted my pictures to capture fearlessness: me and the lion face to face. Let's do this!
Why did you choose this unique experience?
Honestly, it never would have occurred to me to do this until you reached out to tell me about your collaboration. It's not something women over 50 feel deserving of, or maybe they don't value themselves enough. I want to value myself more now than ever.

If this was a gift to yourself, how was it meaningful to you?
This was incredibly meaningful for me. I stepped out in a way that was uncomfortable to me-- showing my body that I'm not happy with. With gray roots that desperately needed to be touched up. However, seeing the photos, all I see is my beauty and authenticity. Even seeing my gray hairs makes me feel happy!
What shift did you experience from your Celebration Portrait process?
It absolutely was a pivot point. I felt like in that moment I truly inhabited my own skin in a way that was new to me, at least since I was very young.
How did you feel during the process - e.g. reconnected to your fierceness, confident, sensual, a sense of inner power?
During the photo shoot I felt incredibly beautiful, fierce, natural, and content. My initial nervousness and awkwardness evaporated immediately, and I felt fully myself. I feel like this shows through in the photos!
